A Life Worth Living

Our friends, families, communities, and churches have the best intentions for us.

They raise us, nurture us, guide us, love us, and pour into us.
They typically want what is best for us.

And you’re grateful.
You’re grateful for all the love, support, memories, and community you’ve experienced over the years.

And yet, you can’t help but feel that there is more out there for you.
That you are called to do big and beautiful work in your world that your circle, your community, just might not understand.

You then realize you have a choice.

You can choose to stay where you are, continue doing what you’re doing, don’t buck the system, and keep everyone comfortable, while ignoring the internal gnawing you feel within.

Or you choose to step up and step out, to ‘rock the boat’ – not intentionally, but just by being you, you know some boats are gonna be rocked – and to go after the life you want to live.

You choose to be either who they want you to be… or who you are meant to be.

Which will you choose?

///

After 3 decades of betraying my own voice and my own truth, I decided last year that I would never betray myself again.

Living that way (betraying myself on the regular) wasn’t worth it.
It has been the best decision I’ve ever made.

It was one of the hardest decisions, but once I did the hard work of making that decision, everything else has gotten MUCH easier.

When you live a life that’s against the grain of you are, you experience resistance, frustration, dissatisfaction, limitation all. the. time.

When you live a life that’s aligned with who you really are, things begin to feel seamless, effortless, joyful, and deeply satisfying.

THAT is the kind of life you are worthy of living.

///

Did you know one of the top 5 regrets of the dying is not living a life that was more true to who they were?

Isn’t that heart breaking?

They spent their WHOLE lives trying to please everyone around them, only to end their life with the regret that they didn’t live the life they actually wanted to live.

I don’t want that to be my story.
I don’t want that to be your story.

And it doesn’t have to be.

You can choose TODAY to write a whole new ending to your story.

You can choose to let all the light and love within you shine for all to see.

///

Our communities had the best intentions for us.

We can be grateful AND we can move on.

Take whatever good you can from your former life and use it to fashion a whole new life for yourself.

THIS IS YOUR LIFE WE ARE TALKING ABOUT.

You are worthy of a life that makes you GIGGLE with delight, feels as LIGHT as a feather, and allows you to fulfill the DEEPEST cravings of your heart.

Your community may not understand, but you didn’t come here to make everyone understand.

You came here to do the work you are called to do, and those who will understand, WILL UNDERSTAND.

Stop convincing.
Start living.

Go after the life you were meant to live.
I’ll be cheering you on the entire way.
