We are taught from a young age to fear / hate / mi

We are taught from a young age to fear / hate / mistrust our bodies.

Whether it’s family, religion, or society, we pick up on the messaging that’s being passed down to us.

Before we even realize what’s happening, we find ourselves shrinking, denying, sacrificing ourselves for some “worthy” cause, whether it’s for a future partner, our health, or our holiness.

But a separation happens.
A fragmentation takes place.

And what was once our superpower has now become our kryptonite.

I didn’t know that when I was taught to mistrust my body, I became separated from my greatest source of power: my knowing.

It wouldn’t be until 2017 that I began my journey home to my body and to my knowing. Little did I know then that an entire career would be born from my embodiment and self-expression.

Fast forward to today, and I’ve made 7 figures on a platform that centers my body, my knowing, and my pleasure.

(2/2) Your view doesn't know how to handle people like me so instead of being honest that the experience of p-rn is across a spectrum, you try to shut it down by making it all bad. But the fact that I exist and make p-rn for a living and LOVE IT shows your view is just that - it's your view and not a universal one.

5. You're not sharing anything new, insightful or true. You're regurgitating the same ol fear mongering tactics that keep people locked in shame, laden with guilt, and prevent people from fully exploring and fully enjoying one of the greatest gifts we have as humans - our pleasure and seggsuality.

6.If p-rn's not your thing, totally cool. I can't stand romcoms and think they teach unhealthy and unrealistic romantic ideals that romanticize r@pe-culture and the commodification of women (oh wait, you thought that only happened in p-rn) but doesn't mean I shame or try to stop anyone who does enjoy them.

And lastly, before spouting off what you've been told to believe and say about p-rn, follow seggs workers, learn their stories, buy their books, listen to their interviews, address your internalized wh0reph0bi@, and you just might find there's a whole lot more to it than you think. And you will probably have a lot less to say.”

(1/2) In case you missed it..

A woman DM’d me a couple days ago shaming seggs workers and regurgitating the same ol fear mongering anti-p-rn rhetoric.

It got me pretty heated up because I hate when people word vomit things they’ve not thought through, haven’t questioned, and haven’t actually been informed about.

It falls flat, doesn’t actually mean anything, and perpetuates exaggerated and/or false information, which the world has enough of!

So feel free to swipe through, read her DM, and then read my response to her. I’m also putting my response below to make it more readable than my screenshots.😁

“Okay, there’s so much to unpack here.

1. Your first sentence implies that you don't realize I'm a seggs worker. Of course I profit and benefit from what I do. It's how I designed my life.

2. Is it p-rn that desensitizes or is it the person who uses it to desensitize? Because those are two very different questions with two very different implications.

3. Downward spiral? People who love comedy don't need more extreme comedy to enjoy it. People who love romcoms don't need to watch more extreme romcoms to enjoy it. So to assume people who watch p-rn need it in more extremes to keep enjoying it shows your general discomfort, if not shame, around seggsuality and pleasure. Maybe it's less about p-rn and more about your seggs-shame, body-shame, and pleasure-phobia.

4. "It destroys", "it encourages violence", "hugely distorted" is exactly why I'm talking about p-rn inside my Seggs Ed livestream this week. Because you represent the view of p-rn that is one dimensional, uninformed, and exclusionary. There's no room for nuance or other experiences inside your black and white view.

For me, p-rn has been extremely healing and has allowed me a richer, better, hotter bedroom experience. P-rn became the vehicle through which I would release my body shame and seggs shame and find the beauty and diversity and gift of seggsuality in all kinds of forms.
