Garage Sale Success!

This weekend we had our *first* fundraising event for Baby M (as s/he will henceforth be known as;), and it was such a success! People from ALL over the Twin Cities donated clothing, toys, home decor, technology, antiques, baked goods and more to sell at our garage sale, and I am telling you, we had some amazing donations! A Kindle, two adult bikes in excellent shape, a guitar, an AC unit, three tables, a lush green chair/couch, a pack n play, amazing kid toys, as well as a ton of cookies, banana and pumpkin bread(s), whoopie pies, and more. It was quite the feast for a garage sale.

And I can only tell you how humbled we are by everyone who pitched in to make this a success. People who donated their goods, loaned us their tables, made all the goodies from scratch, helped set up and tear down, provided meals for us, watched our kids, and spent hours helping us run the garage sale. I mean talk about community. I don’t think I’ve ever asked for so much help in my life, and while it wasn’t easy doing that, I can say the community that was created as a result was so, so, SO worth it. I am so humbled and grateful to call you my friends! Thank you for loving on us. Thank you for catching the vision and supporting us 110% in the process. Thank you for so selflessly giving your time, energy, goods, and money towards bringing baby home. We are SO grateful for you all!!!!

So the final tally from this weekend’s garage sale?? A whopping $2026.83!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you believe it?? I mean. Really. Look at that number again. Can I just say I BAWLED when I saw that number.

So it’s official folks. We are in it for the long haul, and are so grateful for every person and every penny that will help make our dream a reality: to bring Baby M home.
