Doing It Scared

Going after your dreams, living a life that is authentic to you, can be a scary thing.

If you read my “When You Say Yes To Yourself” blog post from a few weeks ago, you’ll know that I was nervous, nauseous and a ball of nerves when I came out publicly on the internet.

I was incredibly scared.
So scared that I felt like I was going to throw up at times.

Being brave doesn’t mean you’re not scared.
Being brave means you do it scared anyway.

That’s the ‘secret’.
You do it anyway.

I thought I was going to wait another year before I came out publicly and yet my intuition prompted me to come out TODAY (back in October 2017), and I was like, “WHAT?! Are you crazy, intuition? I’m not ready for that!”

And yet I KNEW it was the right thing to do.
So I did it.

And now John and I talk about how October 2017 seems like a LIFETIME ago.
I have come so far, have soared in my healing and growth, have accomplished so much since then, that I can’t believe I entertained the idea of waiting until Winter of 2018-2019 to come out.

No way.

Life is too precious, my time is short, and I want to make the most of every moment I’ve got.

The same thing was true for my #RiseAndShineBitches Workshop.
That was my first in-person workshop and you better believe I had some nerves about hosting it.

What if no one came?
What if it was one big flop?

AND YET, I KNEW it was the right thing to do, and it turned out to be fucking powerful (like I knew it was going to!).
Just like I knew it was the right thing to come out publicly much sooner than I had planned.

When your gut tells you to do something, even if it seems like a crazy idea, YOU DO IT.
Because your gut is guiding you to your highest and best life.
It’s calling you to the VERY LIFE YOU WANT TO LIVE.

Sure, you can ignore your gut.
But you’ll be delaying the life you actually want to live.

I have lived long enough to know I can trust my gut.

When it tells me to jump, I jump.
When it tells me to leap, I leap.
When it tells me to stop, I stop.

Your gut is the highest form of truth.
It is connected to the Ultimate Source (Law of Divine Oneness here!), which is IN YOU, so when your gut is telling you to do something, you can trust that it’s the right thing for you, even if others don’t understand.

Your goal isn’t to convince anyone of anything – of your worthiness, of your vision, of the work you are called to do in the world.

Your goal is to live a life of radical love – for yourself, for others, and for the world.

Drop the convincing.
Start the creating.

Do the work you were created to do.
Follow the promptings of your heart.
Trust that the Universe/Your Highest Self is guiding you every step of the way.
And do the damn thing.

One of my favorite quotes by one of my favorite coaches is,
“Your heart is always right, and the time is always now.”

So, yes, you may feel scared about something you are called to do… but do it anyway!

And when you do, you’ll find that your fear disappears like mist in the air.
It vanishes.

Because you’ve shown fear WHO IS BOSS, and that is you!

You can let your life be dictated by fear or you can let it be guided by love.

Choose love, my dear.
Because that is what you are – the core of who you are is Love and Light.

It is your destiny to live a life a love.
It is your calling to shine your light.
It is your right to speak your truth.
It is your duty to take up space.

The fullness of you is welcome here.

Do not give in to fear.
Your life and your legacy are too great to surrender to fear.

Pat fear on its back, thank it for trying to keep you safe, and let it know you are called to greater things.
Because you are.

You are safe to pursue those greater things.

The Universe has your back.
And so do I.

Take that leap, #DoTheDamnThing, and watch your fear disappear!
